Furcas in Western demonology is a fallen angel who took up a teaching post in Hell as a professor of the dark arts, along with rhetoric, philosophy, astronomy and logic. Seriously. You can read about it here. I like the idea that a demon, whose career is ruined in the private sector, winds up in academia to pay the bills. I so relate to that.
