And so we’re off into the Underworld. That is indeed Charon, the ferryman — or death cabbie — of the River Styx found in Classical Greek mythology. He’s one of my favorite psychopomps (along with the Raven), and I have always imagined him kinda like this: a Greek cab driver who eagerly helps you load your luggage at the airport and takes you to your fate, or doom, whatever the case may be.
